Search OSF Registries
You can search and explore OSF Registries to find public registrations.
Go to OSF Registries
Click the OSF Home tab in the navigation bar, and then click OSF Registries from the drop-down menu.
You will be taken to the "OSF Registries" landing page.
Search for registrations
Enter a query into the search box on the landing page. Then click the Search button.
You can use Boolean operators to narrow and refine your search. For example:
Search for registrations that are by a specific author
- author:(albert einstein)
Search for registrations that are by multiple authors
- authors:(nosek AND spies)
Search for registrations that contain a specific word:
Search for registrations that contain multiple words
- tags:(computer AND science)
Search for registrations that contain either one of two or more words:
- tags:(psychology OR neuroscience)
Search for registrations that do not contain a word or phrase:
- (prereg) NOT (preregistration)
View search results
After you enter a query, search results will appear on the "Search" page.
Click a registration from the results, and you will be taken to that registration's "Overview" page.
Browse recent registrations
On the "OSF Registries" landing page, there is a "Browse Recent Registrations" section where you can find the registrations that have most recently been made public.
Click a registration from this list, and you will be taken directly to its registration form where the author's research plan is layed out.
Filter search results
On the Registries "Search" page, there are two sidebars with filters that you can use to refine your search. You can filter by "Providers" or by "OSF Registration Type."
Please note that if you select the ClinicalTrials.gov and/or Reseach Registry providers as filters, the "OSF Registration Type" filters will not be available.
Filter by provider
Select one or more providers from the sidebar, and search results will be filtered accordingly.
The provider(s) will be added to the "Active Filters" list on the left.
Filter by registration type
If you selected ClinicalTrials.gov and/or Reseach Registry from the "Providers" sidebar, uncheck their boxes if you want to add filters from the "OSF Registration Type" sidebar.
Select OSF Registries as a provider, and the "OSF Registration Type" sidebar will be made available to use.
Then, select the registration type(s) by which you want to filter results. Search results will be filtered accordingly.
The registration type(s) will be added to the "Active Filters" list on the left.
Sort search results
Click the Sort by menu in the top right of the "Search" page. Then choose a sorting option from the drop-down menu (you can sort results by relevance or by date).
Search results will be sorted accordingly.
