Redirect My DOI or URL

If you currently have public content (projects/components or files) on the OSF that have DOI(s) or a URL that you have linked to, the best option is to do nothing. COS will continue to host your content to ensure that the DOI or URL will always direct to the same place.
If you decide to move your content, there is a risk of having more than one DOI for a work. This would mean that the work could be less findable. It also “splits” the citation record - it could be cited in different ways, resulting in lower citation counts per DOI.
If you have not yet created a DOI for the content you wish to move off of the OSF, the best path would be to move your content to another repository and create the DOI there.
If you have moved content and received a new DOI or URL, you can request that redirect from the OSF URL or DOI. For an OSF URL (beginning with "https://osf.io/"), this will automatically forward a user to your new URL when they follow an older link. If you have created a DOI, DOI records will also be updated with “obsoleted_by” your new DOI, and redirect to the new location via a landing page on OSF.
Please complete the DOI redirect request form or the URL redirect request form as needed. Only admin contributors can submit requests and priority will be given to DOIs or URLs that have been published/shared.
