You can move files out of Quick Files into new or pre-existing projects to better organize your file or to make the file private.
Move a file
First, click the My Quick Files tab in the navigation bar to go to your Quick Files.
The "Quick Files" page will appear.
Click next to the file that you want to move, then click the Move button in the toolbar.
The "Move file to project" modal will appear.
Create new project
New projects created for Quick Files will be made public by default. To change the privacy settings of your project, see Control Your Privacy Settings.
Click the Create new project button to move your file into a new, public project.
First, enter a title for your new project into the "Title" field.
Then select a storage location from the list (your default location will be selected by default).
Click the Create button.
Your file will be moved to your new project.
Click the Keep working here button to remain in your Quick Files, or click the Go to project button to view your project.
Connect file to existing OSF project
If moving a file into an existing private project, the file will be made private along with its parent, and will no longer be public and searchable.
Click the Connect file to existing OSF project button to move your file into one of your existing projects.
Then, select the project to which you want to move the file from the drop-down menu. NOTE: If moving a quick file to a private project, the quick file will be made private and will no longer be public and searchable.
Next, click the Move file button.
Your file will be moved to the selected project.
Click the Keep working here button to remain in your Quick Files, or click the Go to new project button to view your project.
