Connect Dropbox to a Project

You can connect one Dropbox folder or an entire Dropbox account to your OSF project or component. Different folders can be linked to different components within the same project. The connection between Dropbox and OSF is read-write, meaning you can add and edit files in either application and have those updates saved in both places.

The Dropbox add-on allows you to connect external content to OSF. This connection does not store or back up this content on OSF. To back up your content to OSF Storage, consider Registering Your Project.

  1. Enable Dropbox In Your Project
  2. Configure Dropbox
  3. Select A Folder

1. Enable Dropbox in your project

First, open your project, then click the Add-ons tab in the navigation bar.

You will be taken to the "Add-ons" page for the project.

In the list of add-ons, click the Enable link next to Dropbox.

The Dropbox terms will appear.

Read the terms, then click the Confirm button.

2. Configure Dropbox

Find Dropbox in the "Configure Add-ons" section, then click the Connect Account link.

Log in to Dropbox, then grant OSF access to your Dropbox account.

Your Dropbox folders will be imported into your project.

3. Select a folder

Next, select a folder from the list, then click Save.

Dropbox will be connected to your project.
