One-on-One Guidance

Our mission at OSF is to support you in guiding your students through the process of preregistering their research study designs on the Open Science Framework (OSF) platform. We are volunteering one-on-one guidance to empower you, your students, and fellow researchers to enhance research capabilities and foster a culture of open science.

How You and Your Students Benefit

Our OSF Registries Product Owner (Mark) provides personalized, step-by-step guidance on preregistering research projects using the OSF platform. We will walk through the registration process together, answer any questions about the OSF platform .

Teaching, research, and administrative tasks, you have a busy schedule. You save time by directing your students and fellow researchers to us. We handle the intricacies of preregistration, freeing you to focus on broader teaching and research responsibilities. You also get the added benefit of spending more time during your office hours to get important work done rather than teaching how to use the OSF.

How We Benefit

In short, we want to learn how preregistration on OSF is done in the real world. We want to observe how different users navigate the registration workflow and identify opportunities to improve.

We also get to better understand how students and researchers from different backgrounds learn about open science in general. This will help our team build resources and plan initiatives to help real world problems.

How It Works

  • Let your students know that this opportunity is available for free.
  • Share our calendly link set up specifically for this: https://calendly.com/mark-1341
    • The calendar is scheduled in 15 minute increments, but we can take as long as needed. It would be incredibly helpful if they could share what their goal is (ex. “I need to help creating a preregistration”) when signing up for a session so we can schedule accordingly.
  • We walk them through the part where they are having difficulties.
  • We end with a few 1-2 questions about ease of use and opportunities to improve.

If you have any questions or special requests, email Mark at mark@cos.io.
