Getting Started with Open Science Communities

The open scholarship movement thrives because of the dedicated communities working to advance transparency, collaboration, and knowledge sharing. Whether you’re looking to connect with peers, join discussions, or contribute to open science initiatives, there are hundreds of grassroots groups to explore. Our Explore Open Science Communities guide provides a starting point, including the Open Scholarship Grassroots Community Networks spreadsheet to help you find a community that aligns with your interests and get involved.

As we continue to refine our engagement efforts, the COS Ambassador Program will officially sunset on February 19, 2025. This transition allows us to introduce more flexible and impactful ways for you to stay connected with COS, including newsletters, technology advocacy, and live events. Learn more in our Stay Connected with COS: Open Engagement Opportunities guide, which highlights the incredible contributions of our ambassadors and outlines new ways to engage with COS and the wider open science community.
